THE SUPERVETTES STORY
SUPERVETTES · EST. 2009
Supervettes was built around one idea: a Corvette should be capable of looking as extreme as it performs.
Beginning with the development of the ZR6X, Supervettes has spent more than 15 years designing distinctive widebody conversions and exterior components for multiple generations of the Chevrolet Corvette.
From early C6 builds and the ZR6X to later designs including the SV7, Supervettes has developed a recognizable design language focused on dramatically wider proportions, aggressive styling and transforming the presence of the Corvette.
SUPERVETTES HISTORY
FROM THE ZR6X FORWARD
The Supervettes story began with the C6 Corvette and the development of the ZR6X. Development began in 2009, with the first completed ZR6X debuting in 2010.
The concept pushed beyond the already-wide Z06 and ZR1 body, adding 3 inches of overall width while retaining the unmistakable proportions of the C6 Corvette.
By October 2010, Supervettes body kits were being covered by CorvetteBlogger, which documented the wider body configuration and available components. Supervettes also established an extensive presence within the Corvette community as a supporting vendor on CorvetteForum.
The original ZR6X became the foundation for additional Supervettes designs, including the ZR8X and other widebody configurations that followed.
THE NEXT GENERATION
FROM C6 TO C7
As the Corvette evolved, Supervettes continued developing its own interpretations of the platform. The C6-era lineup expanded beyond the ZR6X into additional widebody configurations, while the arrival of the C7 created an opportunity for an entirely new design direction.
In 2014, CorvetteBlogger documented Supervettes' SV8.R conversion project and later covered the introduction of the SV7, describing Supervettes as a Corvette specialist with an established history of C6 widebody and performance packages.
The SV7 carried the Supervettes widebody philosophy into the C7 generation with a more modern, aggressive design while maintaining the dramatically widened proportions that had become part of the Supervettes identity.
BUILT IN THE CORVETTE COMMUNITY
MORE THAN A PRODUCT LINE
Supervettes' history has played out publicly within the Corvette community for more than a decade. Beginning in 2010, Supervettes maintained an extensive presence on CorvetteForum as a Supporting Vendor, documenting new designs, technical development and completed customer builds.
Corvette owners also shared their own Supervettes projects, installation experiences and finished cars, creating an independent record of the brand and its products across the enthusiast community.
Beyond the forums, completed Supervettes work appeared in automotive media. Gauge Magazine featured a customized 2007 Corvette and specifically credited Supervettes with the vehicle's body modifications.
2016–2019 · THE GT6X
FROM CARLISLE TO THE NATIONAL CORVETTE MUSEUM
Supervettes unveiled the original GT6X at Corvettes at Carlisle in 2016, introducing a new interpretation of the C6 Corvette.
Over the following years, the original GT6X continued to evolve, with the addition of custom side skirts and a front splitter further refining its aggressive exterior design.
In April 2019, that same GT6X received Car Show Winner recognition at the Michelin NCM Bash, held at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
From its 2016 unveiling to its 2019 award, the original GT6X represents an important chapter in Supervettes' design history.
EVOLUTION & REBUILD
SUPERVETTES TODAY
Like many specialty automotive businesses, Supervettes faced significant production and fulfillment challenges during and following the COVID-era disruption. Those challenges affected customers and became an important part of how the business operates today.
Supervettes has since focused on rebuilding its production capabilities, improving order transparency and creating a more controlled process from manufacturing through fulfillment.
Today, the focus remains where it began: designing distinctive Corvette body components and widebody conversions while applying the lessons learned from more than 15 years of building within the Corvette community.
